Sanguinarius, from Bloemfontein, South Africa, was a Black Metal project of Anton van Niekerk.

Anton started playing and composing songs in 2003. By 2004 Anton started recording complete songs, playing all instruments himself. In 2005 "Sanguinarius" was formed.

In 2007 the project gained international recognition when Anton joined myspace music. Complete songs where uploaded and Sanguinarius quickly gained an international fanbase. Airplay, interviews and reviews around the globe followed.
